Las actitudes de los alumnos de Enseñanza Básica (2º y 3º ciclo) del municipio de Beja ante la seguridad en internet

Abstract

A partir de ese problema, la presente investigación pretende determinar las actitudes de los niños y los jóvenes ante el uso de Internet, verificar los conocimientos y habilidades digitales que demuestran al navegar por la red y evaluar si poseen conocimientos suficientes para utilizarla de forma segura. Se trata de conocer si poseen suficiente información sobre los peligros de los comportamientos de riesgo realizados y, finalmente, las experiencias en línea que han vivido. En este trabajo, se ha optado por una metodología exploratoria de naturaleza esencialmente descriptiva que combina el uso de un enfoque cuantitativo y cualitativo, utilizando técnicas de recolección de datos, tales como encuesta por cuestionario para los niños y los jóvenes y sus respectivos padres o tutores, entrevistas estructuradas a los maestros y la observación participante de la realidad. Queda mucho por hacer en la prevención para el uso seguro de Internet. La mayoría de los participantes, a pesar de ser conscientes de los peligros que Internet puede originar, desconoce las principales herramientas digitales que permiten una utilización de la red más segura. Con los resultados del estudio de caso de los estudiantes del municipio de Beja (Alentejo, Portugal), esperamos contribuir a una mejor comprensión de las actitudes y las prácticas de uso de Internet por parte de niños y jóvenes de edades comprendidas entre 9 y 16 años, tratando de garantizar un uso más consciente y prudente de la red.

Based on this problem, rises this research which aims at determining the attitudes of children and young people towards the use of the Internet, to check if they have digital knowledge/skills when surfing the internet, to assess whether they have enough knowledge to use the Internet in a safe way and if they have enough information on the dangers of adopting risky behaviours and, finally, to characterize the online experiences they have already had. In this work, we have opted for an exploratory methodology of an essentially descriptive nature combining the use of a quantitative and qualitative approach, with the use of data collection techniques, such as questionnaire surveys to children, teenagers and their tutors/parents, structured interviews to teachers and direct/participant observation of reality. Much remains to be done in terms of prevention, so as to have safe Internet usage. Most participants, despite being aware of the dangers that the use of the Internet may trigger, are unaware of the main digital tools that allow a safe use. With the results of the case study of students from the municipality of Beja (Alentejo, Portugal) we hope to contribute for a better knowledge of the attitudes and practices of Internet use by children and young people (people aged between 9 and 16 years), trying to ensure a more conscious and cautious use of the Internet.
