The emergence of tourism in the rural areas and in the whole of Spain is located in the context of an Autonomic State in which its regions have independence to decide on matters related to tourism, environment and culture. Tourism is an innovative sector in which its entrepreneurs –the very rural society, the Autonomic Regions, the Government Delegations and the different Groups for the Development– have played an important role in its development of itself. This expansion begins around the 70s, and more especially, around the 90s of the twentieth century. Tourism is a demonstration and support of the self-esteem and identity of the rural world; but it is also a sector and an activity that contributes and needs the strategic alliances of issues such as the cultural patrimony and the agrarian productions of quality. It is a way of economic diversification where mentality changes and new opportunities are seen and offered to that rural society, by means of the creation of new protected natural spaces Zones of Special Protection for the Birds, Places of Communitarian Importance or with the implementation of projects such the Green Paths – even with certain difficulties in some of those protection processes.es_ES
