Presentación. Francisco Suárez entre Escolástica y Mundo Moderno

Abstract

Suárez es ciertamente un pensador genial, pero también un hombre de su tiempo. Las ideas que él expone de manera profunda y sistemática son el reflejo de toda una época que se apoya en categorías filosóficas de la escolástica medieval y su renovación por parte de la escolástica ibérica desde el siglo XV. Con ellas tiene que dar cuenta de los profundos cambios que llegan con la Modernidad.

Suarez is certainly a great thinker, but also a man of his time. The ideas which he exposes deep and systematically are the reflection of an era that is supported by philosophical categories of medieval scholasticism and its renewal on the part of the Iberian scholastic from the 15th century. With them he has to give an account of the profound changes that come with modernity.
