Tres modelos constructivos para un mismo espacio: el valle de Ambroz

Abstract

Cuando analizamos las construcciones que definen un pueblo, lo normal es que sintamos gran curiosidad por ver aquéllas que, por su porte o suntuosidad, nos resultan más vistosas o llamativas y dejemos relegadas a un segundo plano esas pequeñas edificaciones que en muchos casos se encuentran en estado ruinoso y que se hayan diseminadas por las calles. Estas pequeñas islas, objeto la mayoría de las veces de duras críticas por parte de aquellos individuos que un día las habitaron, son el objetivo de este artículo. No se trata de hacer una apología sobre la arquitectura popular, denostando las formas constructivas actuales, sino poner de manifiesto el valor que tienen en sí mismas, como reflejo de un medio y de unas estructuras socioeconómicas concretas, y su vigencia en el mundo actual con ligeras matizaciones en cuanto a funcionalidad. No nos debemos plantear romper con las formas anteriores, tirando por tierra años de experiencia, sino comprobar la efectividad de determinados elementos e incorporar otros nuevos, adecuados a los tiempos que corren y a las necesidades que surgen.

When we analyze the constructions that define a town, it is normal that we are very curious to see those that, due to their size or sumptuousness, are showier or striking, and we leave these small buildings in the background, which are in a dilapidated state and that have been scattered through the streets. These small islands, object most of the time of harsh criticism on the part of those ones who one day inhabited them, are the objective of this article. It is not about making an apology about popular architecture, denouncing the current constructive forms, but highlighting the value they have in themselves, as a reflection of a specific socio-economic environment and structures, and its validity in today's world with slight nuances in terms of functionality. We should not consider breaking with the previous forms, throwing down years of experience, but checking the effectiveness of certain elements and incorporating new ones, appropriate to the times and the needs that arise.
