The present work pursues the goal of analysing the different passive structures that exist: process and result, through se + active verb, ser + past participle, estar + past participle, and their possible interpretations as attributive sentences. This paper will try to isolate the verbs and objects selected, its distribution, the past participles registered: regular or irregular with regard to a process of adjectival or nominal use, from a Spanish or Indian approach, through a “mestization” stage. This will allow us to reach some conclusions that show the textual stylistic output of the diverse variants, that is, drawing attention to passive constructions used as a stylistic markers in the chroniclers of Indies. |
