Adaptaciones fílmicas de los textos de Fernando Pessoa: clave de lectura para "Filme do Desassossego"

Abstract

Los textos de Fernando Pessoa han sido adaptados en el cine tanto en su condición de autor como de personaje. Una de sus obras literarias más complejas es “Livro do Desassossego”, cuya autoría atribuye, entre otros, a su heterónimo Bernardo Soares. El cineasta portugués João Botelho traslada al Séptimo Arte este texto inspirándose en el escritor Graham Greene y en el filme “El tercer hombre”, de Carol Reed, con el fin de leer el libro de Pessoa como una “educação sentimental”, con repercusiones literarias, metafílmicas y, al cabo, derivadas de la siempre fecunda interrelación entre Literatura y Cine.

Works by Fernando Pessoa have been adapted into films with him both as author and character. One of his most complex books is “Livro do Desassossego”, which he attributes, among others, to his heteronym Bernardo Soares. Inspired by the writer Graham Greene and the film “The Third Man”, by Carol Reed, Portuguese filmmaker João Botelho has transferred to the Seventh Art this Pessoan text, in order to read the book as a “sentimental education” with literary and metacinematographical implications, which, in the end, are derived from the always fruitful relationship between Literature and Cinema.
