Abstract

El pasado altomedieval y la repoblación de la zona meridional del Duero llevada a cabo desde fines del siglo XI, al afectar a un espacio poco poblado y sometido durante décadas a una presión estratégica fortísima, contribuyeron a forjar unos determinados paisajes agrarios. Sin duda, el manto vegetal de amplias zonas entre el Duero y la Cordillera Central consistía antes de la repoblación en un paisaje acentuadamente natural. En los siglos siguientes experimentó transformaciones importantes y se consolidaron espacios y aprovechamientos característicos.

The Early Medieval period inheritance and the repopulation of the Southern Duero area, which took place from the late 11th century over an underpopulate and strategical-pressure-subjected territory, contributed to the development of a specific rural landscape within this space. The vegetation cover consisted of a natural countryside before the Repopulation. In the following centuries it went through several changes and the strengthening of both particular spaces and uses of the land.
