Plantones a bordo…!!! (Intercambio de especies vegetales entre la Península Ibérica, América y Asia, en el siglo XVI)

Abstract

El intercambio de especies vegetales entre el viejo y el nuevo mundo fue una constante desde el descubrimiento de América. Además, el transporte de las plantas en los barcos de la época, en unas condiciones realmente difíciles, suponen una gesta a recordar. Hemos intentado dibujar, someramente, algunas historias del siglo XVI, que tendrán continuidad en el XVII y el XVIII. El trayecto es largo y el viaje no está exento de dificultades, pero estamos seguros de que el plantón llegara a puerto.

The exchange of plant species between the old and the new world was a constant since the discovery of America. In addition, the transport of the plants on ships of the time, in really difficult conditions, represent a deed to remember. We have tried to draw, briefly, some stories of the sixteenth century, which will be continued in the XVII and XVIII. The journey is long and the journey is not without difficulties, but we are confident that the sit reached port.
