La pervivencia del Consejo de Portugal durante la Restauración: 1640-1668

Abstract

La historia del Consejo de Portugal se presenta como es lógico íntimamente ligada al período en que el vecino reino formó parte de la monarquía católica entre 1580-1640. En este artículo solo pretendemos esbozar los trazos fundamentales de la historia de este organismo de la administración central, a partir del momento en que Portugal alcanzó su autonomía. Durante casi veintiocho años más, la monarquía española pretendió mantener la ficción de que el terreno perdido era recuperable.

The history of the Council of Portugal is presented intimately linked to the period in which the neighboring kingdom was part of the catholic monarchy between 1580-1640. In this paper we only intend to outline the fundamental traces of the history of this organism of the central administration, from the moment in which Portugal reached its autonomy. For almost twenty-eight years more, the Spanish monarchy pretended to maintain the fiction that the lost ground was recoverable.
