| es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | It seems certain that the Town Hall of Badajoz had its fixed location within the fortress's enclosure from its creation until the first attempt of transfer that we studied here. It is said, however, that it was also installed during the second half of the 18th century in the building that now occupies the archaeological museum, as well as in a certain house in Felipe Checa street. However, it is most likely that during the years in which Diego de Villanueva's project was being carried out, it was installed in Plaza Alta. There we found it in 1791 and it would continue there until in 1799 it was definitively transferred to the "Painted Houses", that is, to the same site where the current City Hall building stands. | es_ES |
