Democracia religiosa y democracia ilustrada en la Atenas clásica

Abstract

Con todas las limitaciones que se consideren justas, Atenas inventa la democracia y, simultáneamente, la teoría democrática. Algún otro Estado griego pudo haberla ejercido antes o contemporáneamente. Pero la historia ―las fuentes― sólo nos garantiza el caso ateniense. Y la democracia ateniense no significa solo el gobierno de todos ―o de la mayoría―, significa también la igualdad de todos ante la ley.

With all the limitations that are considered fair, Athens invents democracy and, simultaneously, democratic theory. Some other Greek State could have exercised it before or at the same time. But history ―the sources― only guarantees us the Athenian case. And the Athenian democracy does not mean only the government of all ―or of the majority―, it also means the equality of all before the law.
