Costa, precursor de teorías pedagógicas actuales

Abstract

En 1998 se cumplió el centenario de la guerra de Cuba, por la que perdíamos las últimas posesiones de ultramar, y España quedaba humillada y vejada hasta la saciedad. Ante esta encrucijada se van a levantar varios escritores y pedagogos, quienes intentarán por todos los medios poner remedio a tal situación. Uno de estos notables escritores será Joaquín Costa; por ello, con motivo de estas efemérides voy a intentar extraer y poner de manifiesto aquellas aportaciones suyas, que, desde el punto de vista educativo, creemos más relevantes y tienen plena vigencia. Para ello, comentaremos los textos que nos parecen más interesantes y los compararemos con los escritos de otros autores que, de alguna manera, han marcado las pautas de la Pedagogía en la segunda mitad del siglo XX, comprobando con ello que los hombres pasan, pero sus ideas son perennes y perduran a través del tiempo.

In 1998, the centenary of the Cuba War was celebrated, for which we lost the last overseas possessions, and Spain was humiliated and vexed to the point of satiety. Before this crossroads several writers and pedagogues will rise up, who will try by all means to remedy this situation. One of these remarkable writers will be Joaquín Costa; for this reason, on the occasion of these ephemeris I will try to extract and highlight those contributions of yours, which, from the educational point of view, we believe are more relevant and fully valid. To do this, we will comment on the texts that seem most interesting to us and compare them with the writings of other authors who, in some way, have marked the guidelines of Pedagogy in the second half of the 20th century, proving that people pass, but their ideas are perennial and endure through time.
