Documentación del sur en la sección político-social del Archivo General de la Guerra Civil Española del Centro Documental de la Memoria Histórica: la agrupación documental PS-Extremadura

Abstract

El objetivo de este artículo es presentar cómo fueron llevadas a cabo las incautaciones de documentos en Extremadura durante la Guerra civil y descubrir cómo se conformó la agrupación documental PS-Extremadura, uno de los quince fondos originarios del Archivo General de la Guerra Civil Española. Para realizar esta investigación, además de consultar fuentes secundarias y de temática archivística, se ha realizado, fundamentalmente, un vaciado exhaustivo del fondo Delegación Nacional de Servicios Documentales del Archivo salmantino. Encontrada e interpretada la documentación relativa a Extremadura, se ha podido concluir que las incautaciones fueron realizadas por el equipo de recuperación de documentos dirigido por Francisco Salinas Quijada, que estableció un archivo auxiliar en Don Benito, con la inestimable colaboración del Servicio de Investigación de Falange Tradicionalista y de las JONS y la 2.ª Sección, Información, del Estado Mayor del Ejército del Sur, encabezada por el general Gonzalo Queipo de Llano. La documentación incautada constituyó una herramienta imprescindible para llevar a cabo la represión en Extremadura durante la Guerra Civil y la posguerra.

This article shows how the documentary seizures were carried out in Extremadura during the Spanish Civil War and this article discovers too how the documentary group PS-Extremadura was formed, one of the fifteen original fonds in the Archive of the Spanish Civil War. Besides to consult secondary sources and works of archival theory, this research has been made after a exhaustive knowledge of the fond Delegación Nacional de Servicios Documentales in the Archive of the Spanish Civil War. The documentation related to Extremadura in the fond Delegación Nacional, after to be found and interpreted, leads to the following conclusions: the seizures were made by the document recovery team directed by Francisco Salinas Quijada; a supporting Archive was founded in Don Benito; el Servicio de Investigación de Falange Tradicionalista y de las JONS y la 2.ª Sección, Información, del Estado Mayor del Ejército del Sur collaborated in the documentary seizures in Extremadura; and finally the seized constituted an indispensable tool to carry out the repression in Extremadura during the Spanish Civil War and the post-war period.
