Los Barruecos (Cáceres): unas formas modélicas sobre granitos

Abstract

Al este y suroeste de la ciudad de Cáceres se extiende una de las grandes manchas graníticas que configuran el extenso batolito de Cáceres-Linares. Muy cerca de Malpartida, 1 kilómetro al sudeste, se sitúa una zona muy conocida por los cacereños como lugar de esparcimiento: Los Barruecos. Los granitos revisten aquí unas formas modélicas equiparables a los mejores ejemplos que de este tipo puedan esgrimirse en la explicación del modelado de estas rocas. Bolos, tafonis, acanaladuras, vertientes cóncavas… coexisten aquí en granitos de grano grueso, con tamaño bastante uniforme, en donde no están ausentes megacristales de feldespato y con caracteres de marcada acidez.

To the east and southwest of the city of Cáceres extends one of the large granite patches that make up the extensive batholith of Cáceres-Linares. Very close to Malpartida, 1 kilometer to the southeast, there is an area well known by the people of Cáceres as a place of recreation: Los Barruecos. The granites here have exemplary forms comparable to the best examples of this type that can be used in the explanation of the modeling of these rocks. Bowls, taphonis, grooves, concave slopes ... coexist here in coarse-grained granites, with a fairly uniform size, where megacrystals of feldspar are not absent and with characters of marked acidity.
