El verbo como elemento caracterizador del lenguaje jurídico del siglo XVI

Abstract

En este trabajo se aborda el lenguaje especial de un texto legal, una acción civil de 1553. El verbo se analiza como una característica básica de este tipo de lenguaje, sobre todo los usos del futuro hipotético, la coordinación de los diferentes tiempos verbales, la iteración de los sinónimos y la expresión en + gerundio. En estos textos, las características legales coexisten con el lenguaje cotidiano de las personas que viven en el siglo XVI, a pesar de su resistencia a la innovación.

This paper deals with the special language of a legal text, a civil action of 1553. The verb is analysed as a basic characteristic of this type of language, especially the uses of the hypothetical future, the coordination of different verbal tenses, the iteration of synonyms and the expression en + gerund. In these texts, legal features coexist with the everyday language of people living in the sixteenth century, despite their resistance to innovation.
