The analysis of the Latin lauguage of the Cantabrian inscription, is a further contribution to know the state of Romanization in which this region was to be found iu the 2nd to the 4th centuries. On the other hand it is also a proof to distiguish, within the natural cantabrian region, which are the areas of greater Roman influence opposite to the wore isolated ones: there are areas like Cildá, Peña Amaya and their surroundings. which show llnguistic characteristics similar to those of the rest of the peninsula, opposite to the nadiniensis inscriptions wllich share more in the native pre-roman linguistic phenomena, that survive in the personal onomastic and the certain phonetic characteristics. |
