Abstract

Se analiza el papel decisivo que las visiones, imágenes y tradiciones europeas han impreso en la percepción de América y de los americano desde el siglo XV hasta hoy. Sobre este tejido de imágenes han dado su opinión ilustres personajes como Antonello Gerbi, Gonzalo Fernández de Oviedo o Juan Gil Fernández, se trata de un afán de interpretar lo indígena americano en función de categorías europeas.

It's discussed the crucial role that the visions, images, and European traditions have been printed in the perceptions of America and the American from the fifteenth century until today. On this images have given their opinion illustrious characters, such as Antonello Gerbi, Gonzalo Fernández de Oviedo or Juan Gil Fernández, it's an attempt to interpret the American in function of European categories.
