Influencias europeas en la pintura novohispana: el caso de Puebla

Abstract

El desarrollo de la Pintura Colonial se ha visto apoyado, en muchos de los casos, por la Pintura Europea. La necesaria búsqueda de modelos religiosos para trasladar a los lienzos y con ellos ornamentar los Templos, llevó a todos los artistas virreinales a mantener un contacto directo con el Arte del otro lado del Océano. A modo de estampas, grabados, láminas o lienzos los referentes iconográficos del viejo mundo llenan, a día de hoy, los Museos y Templos de todo el Virreinato novohispano, sirviendo en su tiempo de modelo de inspiración o siendo literalmente copiados por los artistas coloniales.

The colonial paint development was supported, in many cases, by the euoropean paint. The necesity to have religious models to paint them and to ornament the temples of the new world, carried all the virreinal artists to keep in touch with the art from the other side of the Atlantic ocean. As prints, engravings or paints the art reference from the old world fill, nowadays, the museums and churchs of all the novohispanic kingdom, helping in that time as an inspiration model or being copied by the colonial artists.
