Clement of Alexandria is an outstanding figure in the rise of Christian literature; the best representative, perhaps, of the writers who drew on their own pagan classical learning. This paper looks at some of the subjects and devices used in “Protrepticus”, taken from Ancient Greek rhetoric. |
