Clemente de Alejandría es una figura destacada en el surgimiento de la literatura cristiana; el mejor representante, quizás, de los escritores que se inspiraron en su propio aprendizaje clásico pagano. Este artículo examina algunos de los temas y los dispositivos que se utilizan en "Protrepticus", tomado de la retórica griega antigua.

Clement of Alexandria is an outstanding figure in the rise of Christian literature; the best representative, perhaps, of the writers who drew on their own pagan classical learning. This paper looks at some of the subjects and devices used in “Protrepticus”, taken from Ancient Greek rhetoric.
