| Abstract: | El presente artículo describe y analiza las celebraciones festivas populares y las composiciones poéticas (himeneo) que se sucedieron en las cortes españolas de Italia con motivo de la fastuosa boda real entre Carlos II y Mariana de Neoburgo (14 de mayo de 1690), enlace matrimonial que fue utilizado como propaganda política, a pesar de la situación de carencia económica que sufrían algunas de aquellas ciudades italianas. This paper describes and analyzes the popular festive celebrations and the poetic compositions that took place in the Spanish courts of Italy on the occasion of the lavish royal wedding between Charles II and Mariana of Neoburg (May 14, 1690), marriage link which was used as political propaganda, despite the situation of economic deprivation suffered by some of those Italian cities. |
