| es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | The devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe of Caceres (Spain) started in medieval times; its iconography, particularly sculpture, will evolve throughout the centuries. During the 16th century, the devotion and iconography of the Virgin of Guadalupe traveled to America through engravings; the travel and work of fray Diego de Ocaña, who wrote his memories of the journey, helped to diffuse this devotion in South America, where quickly became indisputably popular. These subjects were addressed in the first part of this article, published in the previous number. Our aims in this article are to review the journey of Fray Diego de Ocaña and his pictorial work. | es_ES |
