After the scientific study of the issue there seems to be no doubt about the survival of imperial titles today. There is no doubt about the continuity at the time of the titles, specifying that on February 25, 1803, the Imperial Diet meeting in Regensburg suppresses only three Princes Electors, not affecting in no way these restrictive agreements the titles, dignities and powers of the rest of the titled hereditary nobility. On August 6, 1806 His Majesty the Emperor Francis II with his resignation, after having constituted the Hereditary Empire Austrian in 1804, puts an end to the Emperor's presence in the Empire, but not to Empire in itself and concretely to its sovereignty, residing, in addition to Emperor - dignity vacant but not extinct - in His Holiness the Pope. You could to think they're extinct dignities, but they're not. |
