This article falls within the theme of critical and presentation of sources. That is why we will show you the available sources for the local and regional analysis of the XVIII century in the National Institute of Statistics, both in the documentary fund as in the versions available online. In particular we present the census Campoflorido (1917), the census of the Marquis de la Ensenada (1572), Census of the Count of Aranda (1763), the Floridablanca Census (1787) and the census of Godoy (1797), discarding the latter by not displaying data at the local level. The reasons that lead us to submit this article are two: Firstly, to show these documentary sources available to the INE, which are of an excellent quality for the study at the local level. And secondly, to put in the hands of local researchers these data on Don Benito, facilitating the access to them, as well as provide the reader with an understanding the state of Don Benito in the XVIII century. These censuses are designed with different purposes, which explains why they show different data. This is a drawback, because it is not possible to perform a comparison between all of them, and at the same time an advantage due to that show a great amount of different data.
