La mujer gitana en la obra de Pedro de Torre-Isunza

Abstract

En este pequeño artículo se nos presenta la figura de la mujer gitana en la obra artística del escultor dombenitense Pedro de Torre-Isunza. La obra de Torre-Isunza fue de reconocido prestigio por sus propios contemporáneos, siendo el destinatario de numerosos premios a lo largo de su carrera. Las Gitanas de Torre-Isunza están impregnadas de serenidad, sin perjuicio de plasmar los bellos rasgos marcados de sus rostros y de sus cabellos, elemento que este escultor sabe tratar magistralmente. A la mayoría de estas mujeres gitanas las conoció el artista en sus viajes a Andalucía (sobre todo Granada y Sevilla), aunque algunas otras fueron mujeres de su tierra natal.

In this small article we present the figure of Roma women in the artistic work of dombenitense sculptor Pedro de Torre-Isunza. The Torre-Isunza work was recognized by his contemporaries, being the recipient of numerous awards throughout his career. The Torre-Isunza Gypsy are infused with serenity, without prejudice to capture the beautiful sharp features of their faces and their hair, this sculptor known element masterfully deal. Most of these Roma women met the artist on their trips to Andalusia (especially Granada and Sevilla), although some others were women from their homeland.
