If we look amongst the unknown episodes about Aliseda's Treasure (Caceres), which were accidentally discovered at the end of February 1920, we can conclude that the excavations carried out by Juan Cabre Aguilo in 1921 were one of the most surprising events. There is no mention of such excavation nor their results in the extensive bibliography generated by this famous discovery, but the presence of Cabre in Aliseda has an undoubted historiographical and archaeological interest. In this way, it can be said that, despite the existence of some gaps in the documentaries, the evidences conserved about Cabre in Aliseda have contributed, on one hand, to enrich the historical background and the management of this well-known finding. And, on the other hand, these evidences helped reconstruct the missing archaeological sited of this unequalled goldsmithing jewelleries in the Western Mediterranean. We would like to dedicate this to Concha Blasco, with our greatest affection and recognition to her work and teaching.
