Plantillas de estilos para Trabajos Fin de Estudios y sus manuales de uso en diferentes procesadores de texto

Abstract

Este trabajo de Fin de Grado es una iniciativa para proporcionar al alumnado de la Facultad de Ciencias de la Documentación y la Comunicación una plantilla de elaboración de trabajos finales de estudios con una estructura bien definida construida con estilos. Se espera satisfacer su uso en software propietario, pero también con software libre y editor de texto en línea. Para crear el modelo de plantilla resultante del presente TFG, se ha revisado la actual plantilla de TFE ofrecida por la Facultad, se han detectado posibles deficiencias y se ha reconstruido utilizando estilos para todos los elementos. De esta manera, la plantilla resultante propone una estructura general para un trabajo final que integra una definición de estilos. Además, ha sido adaptada para el uso en diferentes procesadores de texto, ya que se pretende posibilitar el uso de las plantillas en diferentes procesadores. Tras hacer una selección de procesadores de texto conocidos y compatibles con los sistemas operativos mayoritarios Windows, MacOS y Linux, y atendiendo a sus características de uso, facilidad para obtenerlos, universalidad y compatibilidad con plantillas, se han escogido tres procesadores de texto: MS Word, LibreOffice Writer y Google Docs. Por otra parte, con la intención de fomentar y facilitar la utilización de las plantillas, se han creado manuales de uso con instrucciones sencillas. No obstante, el uso de las plantillas es opcional.

The current end-of-degree project has been developed with the goal of providing a template for End-of-Studies projects to the students of the Documentation and Communication Sciences School, created by using a stated structure and built with styles. In addition, with the aim of easing its use in proprietary software, but also in free software and online text editor, the template has been adapted. As a procedure for achieving the objective mentioned before, the End-of-Studies template that the Faculty currently offers has been revised in order to identify possible weak points or deficiencies, and has been rebuilt later on using definitions of styles. In this manner, the template that we get as a result of this TFG includes a general and recommended structure for an End-of-Studies and, additionally, the template has been harmonized for being usable in different text processors. Different word processors have been evaluated taking into account the compatibility with the most commonly installed OS Windows, MacOS and Linux, but also bearing in mind their acknowledgement, their main characteristics, the easiness for obtaining them, their universality and the capability to work with templates. Considering all the previous details together, the text processors that have been chosen are MS Word, LibreOffice Writer and Google Docs. Finally, one of the key points of the current work is to promote the use of the templates and make easier for the students to use them, and that is why user instructions have been gathered in a friendly user guide, however it is worth mentioning that the use of the template remains optional.
