A vueltas con los "carmina figurata": Optaciano Porfirio, Eugenio Vulgario y Fortunio Liceti

Abstract

Este artículo analiza uno de los motivos más frecuentes en los carmina figurata, la siringa o flauta pastoril, constituyendo el núcleo del mismo el estudio del poema XXVII de Optaciano Porfirio, cuyo antecedente es una composición de Teócrito de Siracusa. Igualmente se analizan dos interesantes imitaciones o desarrollos posteriores del poema porfiriano, los realizados por el medieval Eugenio Vulgario y el humanista Fortunio Liceti.

This article analyses one of the recurring motifs in the Carmina figurata, the syrinx or shepherd´s flute. The study of poem XXVII of Optatianus Porfyrius, based on the earlier composition of Theocritus of Syracuse, constitutes the core of this analysis. Two interesting imitations or later developments of the porfyrian poem, written by the medieval Eugenius Vulgarius and the humanist Fortunius Licetus, are also analysed.
