| es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | INTRODUCTION Background rehabilitation of older people has acquired an increasingly important profile for both policy-markers and service providers within health and social care agencies. This growing demand for rehabilitation services has generated an increased interes in the use of alterntive care environments for older person´ rehabilitation, for example care homes (Ward D, 2003). METHOD This was a retrospective observational study between January 2004 and June 2007. A total of 1536 consecutive patients wer recruited from those rehabilitation programme, and all gave written informed consent. The aime of home rehabilitation are to increase domestic activity and improve the quality of life in people with chronic disease. RESULTS There are a wide variety of diseases treated in home rehabilitation, have the highest percentages obtained by freezing the aftermath, hip fractures, stroke (CVA), the prosthetic knee, hip, Alzheimer’s, the lower limb amputees, senile dementia, humerus fractures, Parkinson ... and to a lesser extent, many processes of trauma and neurology. However, this study demostrated the effetiveness of this regime for these patients, who respondend well to the tratament and rapidly regained a high level of function. | es_ES |
