Activismo falangista: el periódico Hoy ante la Guerra Civil

Abstract

El trabajo analiza la representación que sobre la Guerra Civil hizo el periódico Hoy de Badajoz. A través de un análisis de contenido, ha sido posible determinar que el interés por el conflicto armado no cedió durante la contienda y que asumió como propio un amplio repertorio de leit motiv para justificar la guerra, demonizar a la República y contribuir a que Franco se hiciera con la victoria. Se observa, igualmente, que el fuerte control impuesto por FET y de las JONS acabó con la impronta católica del diario, al tiempo que se produjo una absoluta fascistización de sus contenidos.

The portrayal of the Spanish Civil War in the Badajoz newspaper Hoy, the property is analyzed in this study. Through an analysis of the content, it was possible to determine that the interest in the armed conflict never wavered throughout the conflict and it took up as its own a broad repertory of leitmotifs to justify the war, to demonize the Republic and to contribute to general Franco’s rise to victory. It may likewise be seen that the strong control imposed by the FET y de las JONS put an end to the Catholic hallmark of the newspaper, at the same time as producing an fascistization of its contents.
