¿Error en la traducción latina de algunos términos gramaticales griegos?

Abstract

Con frecuencia leemos que las fuentes de la lingüística actual están en el mundo griego y, sobre todo, en esos comienzos de la filología en el mundo helénico, en torno al S.III a.C. Ahora bien, esta terminología no siempre nos ha llegado directamente del mundo griego, sino sobre todo a través del filtro romano y de la traducción que los gramáticos latinos hicieron de estos términos.Pues bien, en este transcurso histórico y en la sucesiva traducción de los términos gramaticales, han podido producirse algunos errores, algunas desviaciones que alteran el matiz con el que surgió una determinada terminología en el mundo griego. Es éste el problema que vamos a plantear en estas páginas.

We often read that the sources of today's linguistics are to be found in the Greek world and, above all, in the beginnings of philology in the Hellenic world, around the 3rd century BC. However, this terminology has not always come to us directly from the Greek world, but above all through the Roman filter and the translation that the Latin grammarians made of these terms. Well, in this historical course and in the successive translation of the grammatical terms, some errors and deviations may have occurred that alter the nuance with which a certain terminology emerged in the Greek world. This is the problem that we are going to raise in these pages.
