Valoración de la influencia de internet desde la perspectiva de adolescentes y jóvenes. Investigación realizada en el marco de una Lanparty

Abstract

El objetivo de esta investigación fue conocer la opinión que tiene un grupo de jóvenes usuarios asiduos de las Tecnologías de la Información y las Comunicaciones acerca del papel y la influencia de Internet. Para ello realizamos un cuestionario en el que se recogen, por un lado, aspectos relacionados con la identificación de la muestra y, por otro, las percepciones que tienen los jóvenes usuarios sobre Internet. El cuestionario se aplicó a setenta sujetos cuyas edades estaban comprendidas entre los 13 y 30 años, pertenecientes a distintos niveles educativos, que utilizaban frecuentemente Internet y que participaban en una Lanparty. Los resultados obtenidos revelan que estos jóvenes tienen una percepción muy positiva del papel de Internet en nuestra sociedad. Observamos que los chicos y chicas muestran una opinión poco definida cuando se dice que Internet es una vía para el encuentro entre diferentes culturas. Asimismo, los sujetos aprecian los defectos y limitaciones de este medio, como, por ejemplo, la fiabilidad y el control de la información que circula en la Red.

The objective of this research was to know the opinion of a group of young regular users of Information and Communication Technologies about the role and influence of the Internet. To this end, we carried out a questionnaire that collected, on the one hand, aspects related to the identification of the sample and, on the other, the perceptions that young users have about the Internet. The questionnaire was applied to seventy subjects aged between 13 and 30 years, belonging to different educational levels, who frequently used the Internet and who participated in a Lanparty. The results obtained reveal that these young people have a very positive perception of the role of the Internet in our society. We observe that boys and girls show an unclear opinion when it is said that the Internet is a way for the encounter between different cultures. Likewise, the subjects appreciate the defects and limitations of this medium, such as, for example, the reliability and control of the information that circulates on the Internet.
