The colonial paint development was supported, in many cases, by the euoropean paint. The necesity to have religious models to paint them and to ornament the temples of the new world, carried all the virreinal artists to keep in touch with the art from the other side of the Atlantic ocean. As prints, engravings or paints the art reference from the old world fill, nowadays, the museums and churchs of all the novohispanic kingdom, helping in that time as an inspiration model or being copied by the colonial artists. |
