Algunas noticias sobre educación en la "Nueva España" a raíz de la conquista

Abstract

La por unos vilipendiada y por otros enaltecida conquista, tuvo, a no dudar, aspectos negativos y positivos. Nos proponemos, con brevedad, resaltar algunos rasgos educativos de la misma y, al menos, en el campo educativo elemental, (sin ignorar lo que supuso la creación de la Universidad de Méjico, que no es nuestro objetivo dilucidar), la conquista incluyó una preocupación hacia los nativos.

The conquest had without doubt, negative and positive aspects. We intend to briefly outline some of the educational features of it, and at least in the elementary educational field (without ignoring the creation of the University of Mexico, which is not our goal to elucidate), we believe that the conquest included a concern for the native people.
