E. A. Poe y el psicoanálisis. Lectura de "La carta robada" desde la perspectiva de Alfred Adler

Abstract

El acercamiento psicoanalítico a Poe desde la perspectiva de A. Adler pretende redefinir y focalizar, de otro modo y desde otra dimensión, los análisis freudianos marcados por las consabidas interpretaciones sexuales y edípicas. Desde la cercanía al texto y a sus significantes descubrimos, con la ayuda de Adler, que el relato de “La carta robada” es una historia de rivalidad, venganza y hasta de cainismo, como en la tragedia que sirve de telón de fondo al breve relato de Poe: “Atreo y Tiestes” de Crébillon.

The psychoanalytic approach to Poe from Adler’s perspective aims at re-defining and focussing differently and from another dimension the Freudian analyses marked by well-known sexual and oedipal interpretations. From the nearness to the text and its signifiers we discover, with Adler’s help, that “The Purloined Letter” is a story of rivalry, revenge, and even fratricidal violence just like the tragedy that is used as background to Poe’s short story: “Atreus and Thyestes”, by Crébillon.
