One of the poliorcetic devices used by the Almohads in the wall of Seville, Puerta de la Macarena, erected during the third and fourth decades of the XIIth century by the Almoravids, is analyzed in this paper. It represents a type of access characterized by the use of barbicans and towers, wich flank the vain of the wall, attached together by side bridges. |
