The spread of the treaty of Antonio Averlino, known as "The Filarete", was very important in the times of Humanism, even more so if we consider that at this time it was not printed, but rather manuscript copies were sent to the different European intellectual environments. In this brief comment we will stop to consider some aspects of his book VI where the ideal city is presented, "Sforzinda", designed by the writer. Here all the auguries that Filarete translates to his master and that remind us of very old traditions, like the Etruscans, where the augury was very considered in the foundation of all urban space. |
