Una Cruzada para una nueva Tierra Santa. ¡Fraternidad, Libertad, Igualdad!

Abstract

Pese a lo que hasta hoy se ha venido afirmando, ya para restarle importancia, ya para achacarle a la Iglesia española la paternidad del concepto y su legitimación doctrinal, el propio Franco es el que lanza, en la temprana fecha del 21 de julio de 1936, el santo y seña de la Cruzada. La “Proclama a todos los Españoles” que, desde la plaza de Ceuta, sita en Tierras del Infiel, dirige el brillante general africanista, constituye un llamamiento cruzadista inequívoco.

In spite of that has been affirmed up to now, and to diminish its importance, and to attribute to the Spanish Church the paternity of the concept and its doctrinal legitimation, Franco himself is the one who launches, at the early date of July 21, 1936, the sign of the Crusade. The "Proclaim to all Spaniards" who, from Ceuta, town located in Land of Infidels, lead by the brilliant Africanist general, constitutes an unmistakable crusade call.
