In the permanent change of times and even more of ideas, at an age when man more than ever feels himself master of the sciences and the arts, owner of the world, the Enlightenment is presented as a seasoned and mature fruit, at a distance from the Renaissance, because the 18th century "is a regular process that begins in the Renaissance and ends with Romanticism". |
