Avances y regresiones en la escuela normal de maestros de Badajoz: Análisis de su tercer periodo histórico (1863-1868)

Abstract

En el pasado año 2019 se celebró el 175 aniversario de la fundación de la Escuela Normal de Maestros de Badajoz un centro que, andando el tiempo, se transformaría en lo que es hoy la Facultad de Educación de la Universidad de Extremadura. En este estudio queremos analizar el tercero de sus periodos históricos en los que hemos dividido su trayectoria histórica durante el siglo XIX, se trata de un periodo breve, pero que marcó su devenir histórico intensamente. En estos breves años se suceden dos hechos trascendentales para nuestra Escuela Normal: el primero, que logra su independencia jerárquica con respecto al Instituto de Segunda Enseñanza de la ciudad y, el segundo, que consigue impartir en sus instalaciones las enseñanzas tendentes a la obtención del título de maestro de grado superior.

In 2019, the 175th anniversary of the founding of the Normal School of Teachers of Badajoz was celebrated, a center that, over time, would become what is today the Faculty of Education of the University of Extremadura. In this study we want to analyze the third of its historical periods into which we have divided its historical trajectory during the 19th century, it is a short period, but one that marked its historical development intensely. In these brief years, two transcendental events have took place for our Normal School: the first, which achieves its hierarchical independence with respect to the city's Institute of Second Education and, the second, which manages to impart in its facilities the teachings aimed at obtaining the higher grade teacher title.
