Cómo potenciar el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes de Secundaria que acceden a la universidad. Un programa de intervención en la Universitat Jaume I

Abstract

En la Universitat Jaume I, dentro de la Unidad de Soporte Educativo (USE), se encuentra el Programa de Transición Secundaria-UJI en el que se presta especial atención a aquellos aspectos relacionados con el acceso de los estudiantes de Educación Secundaria a la universidad. Actualmente hay una creciente preocupación por parte de las universidades españolas por el bajo rendimiento en el sistema universitario, destacando especialmente los resultados académicos en los primeros cursos, producido posiblemente por el desequilibrio entre los conocimientos que el alumno adquiere en bachillerato y los que se le exigen en primer curso de carrera. Por ello, el material que presentamos ofrece una orientación académica en cuanto a las asignaturas de bachillerato que deberían ser cursadas para llegar con un buen nivel a la titulación deseada, une los contenidos generales de bachillerato con los específicos para cada titulación en concreto y ofrece sesiones de trabajo con el fin de establecer los contenidos adquiridos. Dirigido, en general, a alumnos y profesores de secundaria, bachillerato y primer curso de carrera, se pretende un tránsito a la universidad lo más eficaz posible.

At the Universitat Jaume I, within the Educational Support Unit (USE), there is the Secondary Transition Program-UJI in which special attention is paid to those aspects related to the access of Secondary Education students to university. There is currently a growing concern on the part of Spanish universities about the low performance in the university system, highlighting especially the academic results in the first courses, possibly produced by the imbalance between the knowledge that the student acquires in baccalaureate and those that are required in the first year of career. Therefore, the material we present offers an academic orientation in terms of the baccalaureate subjects that should be taken to reach the desired degree with a good level, unites the general contents of baccalaureate with those specific to each specific degree and offers work sessions in order to establish the acquired contents. Addressed, in general, to students and teachers of secondary, baccalaureate and first year of career, it is intended a transition to the university as effective as possible.
