El Síndrome de Rett: una intervención multidisciplinar

Abstract

El Síndrome de Rett es el desarrollo de un desorden primario en el sistema nervioso que afecta a las niñas. Se caracteriza por desaceleración del crecimiento craneal entre los 5 y 48 meses de edad. Pérdida de habilidades manuales intencionales previamente adquiridas entre los 5 y 30 meses de edad, con el subsiguiente desarrollo de movimientos manuales estereotipados (p.ej., escribir o lavarse las manos). Pérdida de implicación social en el inicio del trastorno (aunque con frecuencia la interacción social se desarrolla posteriormente). Mala coordinación de la marcha o de los movimientos del tronco. Desarrollo del lenguaje expresivo y receptivo gravemente afectado, con retraso psicomotor grave. El objeto de nuestro estudio es ofrecer un conocimiento global del síndrome para realizar una valoración y un protocolo adecuado en relación a una intervención multidisciplinar en estos niños. Por otra parte se ha realizado una recopilación de estudios en relación a la actuación fisioterapéutica, psicopedagógica y familiar.

Loss of social implication in the beginning of the disorder (although often the social interaction develops later). Bad coordination of the march or of the movements of the trunk. Development of the seriously affected expressive and receptive language, late psicomotor burden. The object of our study is to offer a global knowledge of the syndrome to realize an evaluation and a protocol adapted in relation to a multidisciplinary intervention in these children.
